Hey there! crafty lovers I’m back with this month’s second inspirational project for Country View Crafts challenge blog. The lovely Christine chose “you always have Paris” for us this month and we have been having a blast dusting off all our Paris themed stamps, stencils, papers and ephemera. I hope you are enjoying all makes from the team.
My second piece is a card, but not a regular card, this time I’ve gone for a slimline card which is very on trend at the moment. There are several sizes being used but I’ve gone for the large slimline which fits the regular business size envelope or DL.
So this simple looking card started with a slimline stitched die being used on Distress mixed media card by Ranger. I then added the glimmered hearts using Spellbinders hot glimmer system. I applied both distress oxide and ink in Kitch Flamingo to the cut card, then edged the card with Walnut stain distress ink to age it slightly.
I attached some cream lace onto the back of the card both sides as well as some blue Washi Tape and ten adhered this to my card base.
You might remember from my last post that I designed and then cut out my Eiffel Tower using my Cricut Maker. This time I used a large one as I cut out two sizes. I applied a generous amount of embossing glue and then using Rocky Road embossing powder from Emerald Creek applied a coat onto the cut out and heated it. I repeated this once more ensuring I had a nice thick layer. I just loved the amount of texture and gloss it created.
Before sticking the die cut down I applied some interest onto of the glimmered surface, by using words and images printed onto Washi Tape.
lastly again using the glimmer system I created a simple sentiment and then die cut it out.
(sorry this photo is out of focus)
And that’s it!
I hope I have inspired you to enter the challenge and cannot wait to see what you create.
hugs
