Autumn Leaves

Hello everyone, welcome to my second inspiration post for Country View Craft’s monthly challenge, whose theme is “leaves begin to fal” and this time I’m sharing my monthly spread in my planner for September. I don’t usually share my Planner spreads as its a personal journal just for me, but they are becoming so popular I thought it might be interesting to share, something from it.

I’ve tried several makes but my current favourite is an A5 Archer and Olive dot planner, the paper is white, 160 gsm which is nice weight and even takes watercolour paint. It’s not a watercolour paper as such, but as long as you don’t flood the page. So here is my first spread for the month of September.

So I started by sketching my page.

And then inking some of the outlines.

I used Inktense pencils by Derwent and a water brush, and started to add colour on the leaves. I chose to mix up the colours to represent the many colours Autumn brings.

Although I liked the leaves I wanted them to pop more off the page so using Gouache I mixed a small amount to a thick milk consistency and filled in around the leaves.

I painted the rest in contrasting colours and once completely dry I added an outline around everything in black and with a watercolour brush pen I gave a shadow to leaves. I added in the dates and I’m ready to move onto the weekly spreads.

If your interested doing something similar, you can use any supplies you have, such as inks, acrylic paints pencils etc, all of which Country View Crafts stock. Ive included a page for you to down load and colour yourself. You can add your month and dates. Have fun.

see you soon

big hugs

Debs xx
