Hi there everyone, I thought Id pop on to show how I used One of my designs to create a new tote bag. I’m going to use the bag for art supplies, you know going to workshops etc so I wanted It art related.
the design I created A couple of weeks ago in response to a jubilee challenge set by Jehane . We were asked to create a piece of art each day in relation to her 12 days of elements. This piece was in response to Garden Birds.

I removed the background and rotated the frame to an eclipse as I felt that would suit my bag best.

I use a font I own a commercial licence for from Design Cuts to add my text. I then Overlaid a texture to add interest. The finished product is ink sublimated onto a sublimation blank from Cricut.
so the design

I printed the design, my words and some extra elements on my Epsom Ecotank which I had converted to sublimation ink.

I’ve set my printer with the correct ICC profile for my ink and paper, to mirror the image and best quality so that if I forget It’s taken care of. I tear around the design to give a feathered edge so that I dont get a heat mark round the design. I set my heat press to required settings, measured my design and then placed it on my bag securing in place with heat resistant tape. Once the main design was complete I added the the words and other elements.

let’s have another look

thanks for popping in, I’ll see you soon
