Canvas

I loved Jo’s first project of the week and was inspired to make a canvass myself. The size canvassed I used was 14x 10 which is larger than Jo’s but I wanted to hang it in my dining room so needed something bigger.

I painted the canvass with vintage lace and and squid ink ( I so love these two colours) they are fresco acrylic paints and can be found here

I then added grunge paste around the edge and stamped into it with Darcy Uk stamps I used the cogs and one of her hearts. Once it was dry I used treasure gold in royal amethyst lightly over the areas that had been stamped. The photo below does not show the detail but later you can see it more clearly.

I stamped around the edge of the canvass to add a little detail.

While this was all drying I gathered some embellishments to add to the canvas. I pinted them in vintage lace .

I used the Squid ink on one heart and vintage lace on two. I used distress ink in milled lavendar on my lace.

I used a cardboard block and painted it in squid ink. I let this dry and then added crackle glaze over the fron and once that was dry went over the top with vintage lace.

I then stamped on the dark heart with vintage lace using Darcy uk heart text stamp which fitted wonderfully over my wooden hearts. I reversed this with the heart changing the colours.

I then assembled the block using some raffia string and one of the embellishments.

Back to the canvass. I add some corrugated card which I had torn and painted to the canvass and then the block using my glue gun.

I finished assembling the canvass

The finished canvas

And here it is hanging on my kitchen
