Black and white

Well here we are Easter Sunday, day 3 of the long weekend for some. I’m in my craftroom in the garden listening to the rain. It’s very peaceful and I am really enjoying my craft time.

I decided that today I would enter a few challenges as there are some great themes around.  On That’s Crafty they asked us to play with just black and white with a splash of colour, and on the Artistic Stampers blog they invited us to play with embossing. My project here combines the two and will be entered into both challenges.
I used Paper Artsy’ smoothly heavy card stock 90x180mm and attached to a large tag which had been distressed round the edges with black soot.
I stamped the background patten from crafty individuals in black archival ink randomly. I then used black and white embossing powder to highlight some of the diamonds.

I like the way the it changed when I double stamped the card.
I knew I wanted butterlies but could not decide which colour to use. I made several and laid them on the card

After deliberation I chose yellow, which was inspired by Jo Myhill earlier this morning, as she used it on her creation. You can see Jo’s here. These colours I would never have chose to use so very pleased I found the challenge :).

I used black archival and saying stamp from creative expressions on the back ground to add some more interest. I then printed and embossed a saying stamp from studio 490 from stampers anonymous and used it as a sentiment. It all came together.

Thank you for visiting and I’d love to read comments thank you.
Love Debs x
