Journal page

Hello everyone, today is the start of a new Challenge at That’s Crafty and the theme is Red and Green should never be seen. Please check out the challenge guidelines to make sure you qualify and if you win you will receive a £20 voucher to spend in the wonderful shop. My teamed have some fabulous inspiration for you, and we have a new person who has joined the team. I won’t tell you more so you will have to pop over and see, lol.

So to my inspiration, well tell me I cannot do something and what will I do, yep do it lol. So here is my journal page.

I didn’t take many photos but here is a rundown of what I did and used.

In my Small Finnabair journal I scraped white Gesso over the page quite thickly and then scratched some pattens using the double edged texture brushes from Fiinnabair. Once dry I added colour using some Dina Wakley heavy body Acrylics over the page leaving some white areas. Used stamps by Everything Art for Paper Artsy and red paint randomly on the page.

I tried not to over think this as I wanted to keep it loose. I used some of my painty lids and bottle tops around the page to add some interest as well as an old harlequin stamp ( sorry don’t know who by) and a floral stencil. Around the edge I added black to form a frame and finshed with a sentiment.

I hope we have inspired you to have a go, and enter the challenge. I also hope you can pop back over the weekend as I will be sharing my adventure at Art from the Heart with Dina Wakley. Take care as always

Hugs Debs xxx

  1. Fabulous! I think it's a very difficult colour combination and you did so well. Great job and I can totally see freedom in it. Thank you for sharing.
