Happy New Year to each and Every one of you

Well today starts the the new theme for us over at Country View Crafts and this month its “Time” in any format, so clock faces watches, etc and on any substrate.

My tag

I chose to do another Tag with some elements I designed a while ack for my grandson who loves steam punk. First I made a background paper with all the elements.

I kept it black and white so I could spray with distress ink to age it. Plus I have a new printer which is brilliant in that it can print on card and water colour paper but the ink is expensive so as I already have the spray inks it seemed more economical this way.

I also printed off my element which is a clock face with some foliage, I printed two but didn’t use the face one as I wanted the clock to be the focal point.

So I sprayed the backing paper and tore of some pieces to use on my tag

I then got out some of my vintage ephemera ( we all have loads of that don’t we?) and began to fill up the background. I actually found a little clock sticker similar to mine.

At first I was going to colour my clock with alcohol markers but as the background was so busy I decided to leave it black and white as the contrast was greater. I feared it would fade into the background if I added colour.

To finish I added some faux stitching and a sentiment let’s take another look.

I apologise for the quality of photos this month. Unfortunately i’d left my phone downstairs and didn’t feel able to go down and come back up as my knees were still quite painful. I had to use my iPad instead which doesn’t have such a good camera. ( I hope I can be forgiven )
