Be sentimental

Hi everyone, I cannot believe its February already! I cannot say I’m not pleased as it means Spring my favourite season will soon be here. Im not a lover of Winter (as I’ve said before), I dont mind the cold, its the dark that I don’t like.

Anyway it’s that time of the month to share a new make for the Country View Crafts monthly challenge, the topic this month is Be Sentimental, well it is the month for love.  So here is a card I created.

Let’s start at the beginning, first in Procreate I created some images I wanted to cut out.

I imported these into Design Space,  I also had few others I had created which I wanted to add which were already uploaded. So I added them all to my canvas and resized them to fit my card which overall size is 7”x5”.

I used Neenah 80lb white card on my sticky mat and set the Maker to cut.

Once finished I used gold watercolour paint to add colour to large leaf and spiral. For the others I used Copic markers. I played Around with placement and decided to dump some as I knew I wanted to add some dried flowers too.

I made up my card using the pink card above and then a gold mat on which I placed a watercolour background I had painted with hearts and x and os. They are very feint as I wanted the die cuts to be the focal point.

So I assembled everything and stick down the die cuts in place. Then here comes the fun bit which i’m absolutely obsessed with, wax seals. Ive been using them on my envelopes for ages but put one on tag journal I recently made which gave me the idea for using it on the card. I think I can see many more uses so look forward to experimenting.

I purchased a small kit which contained a variety of wax beads, the spoon holder, spoon and some candles. I had a few wax stamps which I purchased years ago but do intend to purchase more. There are two main ways to add your seal, straight onto your project as I have or you can pour your wax onto a silicon mat stamp it then store your seals to use on your projects.

So I arranged My dried flowers onto the dies cuts, added my melted wax and placed my stamp on top, I left It there for a few seconds then removed it.  To finish my card I used hot foil to add my sentiment (I think this one is from spellbinders).

Let’s take a last look.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, if so please consider following my blog and leave some love in the comments section. That way you will be the first hear about new posts and freebies which I post From time to time. If you would like the die cut files let me know and I’ll add them to the freebies section of my site.

Take care all and ill see you soon for my next post

  1. I love the seal too… I have some wax candle and have used it with rubber stamps before but it is difficult to control where the wax fall so I haven’t done it for a long time. You make me want to try again! x

  2. Beautiful Debs I love the seal. I’ve got some in my stash but mostly I just gaze at them! Happy February. Hugs xx

  3. Debs this is absolutely beautiful, I LOVE the addition of the wax seal, just perfect! Take care and have a very happy February, Sue xx
