Hello everyone its my time to show you my second project for this months inspiration for the Country View’s monthly challenge and I have another sewing project for you month.
Now I think this is rather special as the main fabric is one of my own designs which can be purchased from Spoonflower.
As the sample I had was a rather large print I chose to just use the butterfly as the focal point. However, machine in the hoop projects are extremely new to me so I didn’t quite get it in the place I wanted it, they say practice makes perfect, right?
So I wont go into great details about the hooping etc as there are fabulous tutorials on you tube and im just a beginner but here are the main points. It takes two separate hooping, first the tab then the cover
so first we make our tab, I had changed the tab from the original design and added another butterfly.
I followed The pattern and completed the tab
This is the project in the hoop, it has stitched my placement stitch and is now stitching around the edge. I used a faux leather for this part
Next it stitches a placement stitch for the next fabric once complete add the fabric and secure.
It now does the satin stitch around the edge.
Next I flip The hoop and adhere the side pockets and back lining (this hides all the front stitches) you have to secure well. It then stitches everything into place
This is now ready to add your tab part, which I completed earlier you cut a slit and thread the tab in place then it stitches to secure
Now everything is removed from the hoop and cut to size. Lastly I added the snap tab. I will now cut several layers of felt and secure to the inside so that I can keep all my sewing needles in one place.
Im definitely hooked so look out for more projects coming soon
