Vehicles

Hello everyone it’s that time again for the challenge from  Country View Crafts and I have another sewing project for you with such a darling design which I love. Over in the country view crafts shop you can buy fabric and sewing floss, embroidery hoops etc but for this project I used An in the hoop design. I’m just loving what you can make and now I’m getting the hang of it will be adding some bits to my shop. Anyway on to the project.

so I chose my fabrics and cut each piece to size. I loaded up my 6×10 hoop with water soluble stabiliser and stitched my first placement stitch. I wont give you all the  details from the pattern as it’s a purchased pattern. However, here are a few shots of it being made.

This is how the file shows on my machine and each step is run in sequence.

Here it’s starting to stitch the front of the caravan

stitching all the details, and this has a lot, it took me about two hours to stitch the caravan but it was so worth it as it looks so good.  The lighting and pictures don’t really do it justice.

Once all the stitching was complete I hooped up the second hoop and followed all the steps. I just Love how you join the two sides. For more info follow this link where I show you in more detail.

once it was all complete I took It from the hoop and cut away as much of the stabiliser as I could then using a cotton bud and water I rubbed the edges to remove the very last bits.

let’s take another look

Come back soon I have Another stitching project for you which is sew (see what I did there again ) lol so useful. Hugs Debs xxx

  3. Fascinating project! Not surprised it takes so much time… I don’t know anything about machine embroidery and I wonder how much thread does one need for such a big image and is that what is called free motion? x
